Bridge no longer working

Post by criley »

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere. Two weeks ago, I was able to pull an IP from our DHCP server. This morning I noticed that I was no longer being assigned an IP. Nothing has changed to my knowledge except for an upgrade in OS X to 10.6.5. So I feel something changed with sharing the NIC. I just do not know where to go or if i have to do something special. Any thoughts? I see that there is a new version of VB out, so I am going to download it and see if that helps, but I have a good feeling it will not make a difference.

What guest OS are you running?

I'm experiencing similar funkiness in a Windows 7 (pro, 64-bit) guest. However, I get an IP from my network, but for some reason internet access is broken. It'll resolve domains, but I can't get out to anything. Trying again 5 minutes later, everything worked fine.....then broke again. Very odd.

Well, once I started the guest (XP), I did not have an assigned IP from our network. So I went for coffee and when I came back, I was connected. Strange. I am not sure why it is taking sooooooooo long to be assigned an address. I have been told by some programs that my network files were nit found on occasion but when I check the LAN, it has an address and all looks good. Hmmmnmmmm.
