deleting files don´t free space

Hi i am using Host XP guest Ubuntu,

HDD image is dynamic expanding up to 14gb.
so i was running out of space, i deletet about 3-4 GB
but i dont get free space.
The diskspace analzyer tells me that from 14gb only 7 are
used on / and subfolders.
But still in the system i am only have about 22MB of free space...

ok i found the solution.

The files were still lying in a hidden location of the root´s trash.
