I reviewed what i did and i found the problem (i looked over the part of OS and put windows instead of mac). However, with that fixed, i now get a box with an EFI Shell Version 2.10. I am completely lost here to be honest

in general, i went through the beginning of creating a box and then changed some of the settings available. I also seem to have the "a" button for my captured settings where before it was the command button.

Creating a virtual machine is only the first step. You then have to install an OS in it. What OS do you want to install? What CD have you inserted in the drive of the host?

Hans Eberhardt- I tried that and got "Fatal: Could not read from the boot medium! System Halted."

BillG- I want to install Windows XP and I have inserted a cd that was made with windows on it from a professional version.

Why not posting exact Infos instead of only "does not work".

Exact and full Infos!

Host, Guest, Version, exact Guest Configuration, exact Error Messages, your Hardware, Error-Logs.

So Help is not possible. This is a forum, not a quiz show.

stefan.becker- I believe it is clear that I have little notion of what I am doing in order to fully complete what you request, but i shall do my best to fulfill your request.

Host- Mac OSX version 10.6.5
Guest- Windows XP Pro
Version- (i am assuming you are asking for the version of virtual box) 3.2.10. if u mean version on the box, Mac OSX server 64-Bit
Guest Config- (not sure how u want me to say this, but in the settings panel, )
1024mb base memory, but dynamically expanding set
Boot Order- CD/DCD-ROM, Hard Disk. Floppy, Network
IO-APIC, absolute pointing device, PAE/NX, VT-x/AMD-V, Nested Paging, & 3D Acceleration enabled
1 IDE controller with VBoxGuestAddirtions.iso as IDE secondary Master
Adio is enabled
1 network adapter attached to NAT and that is all that is filled out in that section
USB controller enabled and Machine Folders in Shared Folders.
