I have just installed VirtualBox via Ubuntu software centre, then installed WindowsXP as a guest OS. I have installed software from the internet on Windows, but cannot install from a program disk
I just get a beep!
the reason I want to use VirtualBox is to run the few programs I need that won't run under Wine in Linux which is now my main OS

Re: installing from program disk (CD/DVD)

Re: [SOLVED]installing from program disk (CD/DVD)
I don't know exactly what I did, but the program has now installed from the disc. I installed the guest additions, maybe that had a bearing or maybe the devices option wasn't correct
anyway, VirtualBox is proving to be just what I need to run alongside Linux on my laptop
