I can't ping my host from the guset using Host-Only

Post by Fierfeu »

Hello all,

it seems that my previous topic on this subject wasn't laod in the forum ! Don't know why !

This is my problem : I'm under Win7 64bit and I create a guest under Ubuntu 10.04 with a NAT and a Host-Only connections.

My host ping very well the guest but my guest can't ping my host ! Do you know why ?

I tried a bridge connection and if this time my guest ping well the Host, I haven't any IP Adress for the guest to pping from the Host.

Bridge the NIC in the vm to the MS loopback adapter in the host.

Isn't the default Windows firewall blocking it? Make sure it has the exception enabled for file and printer sharing or create one specific for ping.
