Installing Oracle VM Server on Mac OS X host

Post by macadoo »

Hi

I am trying to install Oracle VM Server on a Mac OS X host. However, after the initial installation every time the VM starts up it immediately crashes after the (XEN) Scrubbing free RAM ....... , when I think the screen resolution is about to change.

I have managed to install an Oracle EL v5 on the same host OK, but not the Oracle VM Server.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Not going to work. You are trying to run a virtualizer inside another virtualizer.

Just to let you know, I have installed OVS 2.2.1 under VirtualBox 3.something. You won't be able to run a full-virtual host, but paravirtual VMs work fine.

I have it 1.25GB of RAM, Guest OS is set to "Oracle (64-bit)", PAE on, ACPI on, IOAPIC on, VT-X VPID on, Hardware virtual ext on.
