Newbie to Virtual Box,
I successfully installed VB 3.2.10 on my Mac Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.5. This went with no problem, as did the creation of an os/2 warp 4.5 virtual machine.
My problem is with my diskette drive. There are no diskette drives installed in my Mac Pro, so I am attempting to use a TEAC USB diskette drive, with no success.
Here are my steps:
Start the Virtual Box software. One guest defined, OS/2 Warp V4.5.
Unmount my usb diskette drive from os x.
Start os/2 guest.
Get message about Auto Capture Keyboard.
click ok.
press f12 when VB spash screen screen appears and get temp boot sequence screen.
Select usb icon status bar at bottom of the VB window in the Status Bar.
Select teac diskette drive from the list of usb devices.
Something, I assume VB, reads the diskette drive.
Key in f to read floppy drive.
Get the following error message: "FATAL: Could not read from the boot medium! System halted.
The installation is stopped.
I hope someone can point me in the proper direction to get this resolved. I am dead in the water at the moment.
Thanks,
usb diskette problem installing os/2 4.5.2

Re: usb diskette problem installing os/2 4.5.2
I found my problem. I forgot to create a virtual diskette controller and a virtual diskette drive.
I now have another problem, but at least I can read the three installation diskette images.
