How to Tell If I Picked "Dynamic Virtual Disk?"

Hello,

Is there any way to tell if I picked the dynamically sized virtual disk option when I created a virtual machine? I have a MacBook Pro with a "Windows Vista upgraded to Windows 7" guest .vdi. I can't imagine I would have picked a fixed size virtual disk, but I am getting an "Out of Space" message.

Please help!

VBoxManage list hdds
Look at the type. If it says normal it is dynamic. Keep in mind that you stated the MAX size when you created the VM and it will not be able to grow any larger than what you set it to.

Oh...so, I should have set it to a maximum size...now I find out...

However...the virtual size says 20 GB. The actual size says 6.69 GB. So, I think I am still confused about what is going on.

Then you have a Dynamic disk. The max size is 20 GB, but it's currently grown to 6,69 GB.
