Starcraft 2 crashing Win7 guest

Post by Royalpro »

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 with the latest stable updates, video 9400GT (512mb) driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-260.19.21, and VirtualBox 3.2.10 r66523.
I installed Windows 7-64bit as a guest and updated it .I have 3D acceleration turned on with 128 video memory. I have installed the VirtualBox Guest Additions in safe mode. I then installed Starcraft 2 and it finishes the install and self update. When I start the game in brings up the loading screen and tells me that it is trying to access the network. If I am quick enough I can allow it access or if I don't get to the it in time, it crashes the guest out completely and shows aborted in the VirtualBox Manager window.
I just did a reinstall of SC2 and after the main install was done it said that I have an unsupported video card "5200".
Has anyone else had this problem and is there any ideas that might help me.

To add more info.
I already had my linux user in the vitualbox group.
I added SC2 to the Win7 firewall exceptions.
I added my linux user to the video group.

And it still is crashing while loading.

SC2 is too new to run in a VM. Just forget it. You have a better change to run it in Wine than on a Windows VM. DX is just not up to par with it (max v9, but v10+ is required for the game).
