Hello,
I've have a Plustek Opticfilm 7200i diapos scanner. It only works on windows. There is not any way to use it on Mac OS. So I decide to use virtualbox with Windows XP in order to connect this scaner to my machine.
When I conect it to my virtualbox Wxp sesion I've get this message
"USB device 'Plustek INC Film Scanner' with UUID {7259f553-ee7b-4a44-b00e-5c8c5b2a7222} is busy with a previous request. Please try again later."
Any idea? Could someone have the same problem?
Thank you very much to all of you
Jose Maria

Try USB Filters.

Did you get this to work? I have the same issue with my Epson Scanjet 4370

Re: USB Scaner doesn't connect
IIRC you need to make sure that the host has not captured the device first in MAC. If it has you need to remove it before you can use it in the guest. This usually means that you should have the guest running before you plug the device in since you say the MAC does not have drivers for it. If it has drivers then you must release it from the host first. Either way you will need to experiment with the USB filters. It may need to be a blank filter.

Re: USB Scaner doesn't connect
Thank to all for your answers.
I'll try to use a blank filter because now I'm using a non blank filter for this scanner.
For MAC there is not a driver for this scanner. This is the reason why I'm trying to use virtualbox.
And, how can I get the host system doesn't capture the divice before the guest system use it?
Thank again to everybody.

Re: USB Scaner doesn't connect
I had a similar problem for my USB scanner.
This is what finally worked (after doing lots of tinkering around)
The key is to modify the USB settings of the VM as follows (also check screenshot below) -
1) In the USB settings, remove the checkmark against the "Enable USB 2.0 (EHCI) Controller" property.
2) Also then add a USB filter to the VM and set the "Remote" property to "Any".
After this scanning will work through the VM. Just make sure that you first start the VM and then connect the printer to the host.
All the best !
