Hi,
I'm running VB on Windows Vista Business SP2.
In my XP Pro SP3 VM I'm running Oracle Database Server 11g Release 2.
If I work on the DB host (which is the VB guest) I have no problems.
But trying to access the DB from my VB host I run into connection problems.
My VM has but one hard disk drive (C:), which I shared.
If I use Host-Only networking ping is succesful, but tnsping is not.
What could be the problem? What should be the setting for the network adapter?
TIA,
Piet

try installing oracle in a linux or solaris guest, you've got to be insane to run a database under xp!

@cremaster,
It works in Windows XP if you download the right one. You need Bridged for the network connection is all (router must be in your network). Host-Only will work too, but the problem your are having usually is due to changing the network adapter after the installation of the Oracle server. You need to re-configure oracle every time you change the network settings. Is this for a class or something?
