After performing a Windows 7 update my Guest box running a plain version of Windows XP wouldn't boot up and crashed the VirtualBox Guest Application.
I managed to get it to boot up in safemode using command prompt, but could get no further. I did some more investigating and noticed that the latest
Win 7 host updates included video drivers. So I downloaded and installed (also removed the previous drivers) the latest NVIDIA video drivers and then tried again.
Unfortunately that didn't work, so I re-moved VirtualBox and re-booted. I downloaded VirtualBox and then Installed it. I tried again, but no luck. So I tried messing
with a few settings and removing a few features such as USB and 2D and 3D support. Well to my surprise disabling 2D and 3D worked, but that still leads me to believe
that there is something wrong.
Hopefully this is something that Support will look into and put out a fix provided that they read this forum.
Regards,
TJ
