Did you install the drivers from the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso image included with the distribution? That should give you the drivers for the VGA adapter plus other VirtualBox integration stuff.

How do I connect my Laptop to a PC Monitor using a VGA cable? I have a Windows XP laptop. After I plug in the VGA cable, I turn the laptop on and then turn on the monitor. The monitor shows the same thing that's on the laptop's screen when it's starting up. But when it's done, the PC monitor shuts down before it gets to the Log in screen. How can I fix this problem?

Erm... this doesn't sound like a VBox question, it sounds more like a hardware issue which would be better directed towards your laptop mfrs support site.

It also isn't polite to hijack someone elses thread to ask an irrelevant question.
