VMware Client inside VBox -> VBox crash!!!

Post by torentash »

On the first place, I am not sure if virtualbox supports another virtual machine running inside it.

If it does support, then this is the case. I have Win XP as guest (on Linux host) where I installed VMware client. That client needs to start vmware image file (it must be started this way, e.g. I cannot convert it into vbox image) which contains another Win XP system. VMware Client starts this image and starts booting the second XP, but then VirtualBox crashes with "critical error".

So, is it possible to have such "double" virtualisation and, if yes, how to achieve it?

Thanks :)
