The bold part was your demise. That is not needed because they are shipped with the Guest Additions. Installing the WineD3D libraries while you also have the Guest Additions installed will only give problems. I hope you have a snapshot from before the installation, else you have to start all over again.
The correct steps are:
- Set up a VM
- Enable 3D in it's settings
- Install Windows
- Install Guest Additions in safe mode.
That's about it. But you MUST have full hardware accelerated OpenGL on the Host for it to work. See the
VirtualBox FAQ for compatible hardware, in case you have an old(er) system.
