I have installed CentOS 5.5 x64 guest OS on Windows Server 2008 R2 Std x64 host. I selected Bridge-mode, then I selected the network connection from the drop down menu which is the public network connection on the host OS (The host OS has two network connections, one is public (internet) and one is private (internal), I chose the public one).
I went to modify the ifcfg-eth0
It didn't work.
Is anyone willing to help me through a teamviewer session?
Regards
How to set CentOS 5.5 Guest OS its own public IP?

The VM settings are correct. All that's left is for you to figure out what you're doing wrong and we can't help with that, it's outside the scope of this forum. There are plenty of tutorials on the web and even the man pages will give you the information you need to set up the network connection. You do have to keep in mind that you MUST have a second public IP on the connection and it is available. You can't use the same IP as the host. A consumer connection allows only one public IP and a business line needs to specify that it needs more than one IP and that they are static.

When I create a new VM, there is no option to select CentOS as OS. Do I select "Linux" then "Other" in 2nd box or do I enter one of the RedHat? Does this setting make difference on how its network will be setup?

CentOS is RH based, so that would be the closest one. But it is just a picture and a template for the settings, that's all. It does not change the way the network works. For all it cares about you give it O/S2 Warp as OS type
.
