Trouble transfering VM

Post by fen »

My original host was an iMac (OSX 10.6.4, 3.06 Ghz Into Core 2 Duo). I had a VM running Windows7(64) working fine on that machine.
Recently, I upgraded computers and tried to transfer everything over. My new host is a Mac Pro (OSX 10.6.4, 2 x 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon).

After running into a few errors with the direct transfer from mac to mac, I used export/import appliance to see if I could get the machine running. But I've had the same types of errors:

(about 50% of the time)
1. VT-X/AMD-V hardware acceleration has been enabled, but is not operational. Your 64-bit guest will not detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot.

please ensure that you have enabled VT-X/AMD-V properly in the BIOS of your host computer.

(or i get this)
2. A critical error has occurred while running the virtual machine and the machine execution has stopped....

followed by instructions to come here and post some logs.

I get an error saying the log file's too big for me to upload though.

I have done a software update on the mac, which included something that was supposed to fix issues with VT-X... seems that may not be working, but maybe it's something else entirely.

The log's too big to upload by a small amount. I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules here, but I've split it into two parts so people might be able to look at it.
VBox.log
(73.96 KiB) Downloaded 5 times
logPart2.log
(69.95 KiB) Downloaded 2 times
When I tried to start the machine this time, a BSoD flashed up, without enough time to read what the error was, and then it went to one of the "guru meditation" errors.

Any insight into this situation would be appreciated.
