Un-hibernating Mac with guest Windows 7 causes a crash

Hi there
When my computer, running Snow Leopard, comes close to running out of battery power it hibernates. However if I have a Windows 7 guest running at the same time and then unhibernate it. it goes to the end of unhibernating; crashes and restarts.
This doesn't occur if the Windows 7 guest isn't running. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know why it occurs. I feel when the computer goes into hibernation, there must be something that Windows 7 doesn't do or does do, which is causing the problem. However my programming skills are not advanced enough to be able to find out any more.
Kind regards
