Can't add GPS logger iBlue 474 to Win-XP client

I have a gps logger "iBlue 474" which i would like to use in my win xp client. When I try to activate the logger I get an error message as seen in the attached screenshot. The error also occurs when I explicitly remove the connection entry on the connections panel in the mac os x settings. Any ideas what else I need to do, so my VM can get access to the device?
