Cisco IP communicator

Hi:

I have as a Guest Windows XP in my Mac (OSX Leopard) and I set in windows the Cisco IP Communicator. When I run the Cisco IP Communicator runs fine it recognize my PBX and viceversa. I tested the speakers and the microphone without a problem, but when I call an extension or an extension call the Cisco IP Communicator (the Cisco rings I pick up the phone in Windows) the other extension listen me, but I don´t heard them and when I make a call it dials fine but it happens the same: The others extensions listen me but I do not listen them.

What is the problem? How can I fix it?

My sets: VitualBox 3.2.10
Guest OS: Windows XP
Ram 768 MB
Audio: CoreAudio, ICH AC97

Host OS: MAC OSX Leopard

Cisco: Cisco IP Communicator 7.0.4.0
CDP Driver Vesion: 1.0(0.0)
Voice Engine Version: 3.5.0.0

Please give some more information about the audio set up. Are you using a separate device for audio or are you using the Host system with the microphone and speakers? How did you set the audio on the Guest?

No, I´m not using a separate audio device. I use a MacBook Pro. I set the audio in the Guest OS as is set default when you set the Guest OS. When I set the Cisco and tested before use the audio and microphone worked perfect, the problem appears when I make or receive the call.

What network setting do you use? Maybe changing from the default NAT to Bridged will work, as it seems that data cannot enter the VM properly.

It works perfect! Thank you! Now, I have a new "problem" my Windows XP is telling me that my connection is limited or none. How can I correct this? Will it get me a problem in the future?

I solve my own problem doing this:

In the configuration: I set the adaptor 1 with the Bridge as you recommend and adaptor 2 with the set NAT. The notice of bad or nule connection do not show any more. Thank you so much.

That's odd. I thought that with Bridged, your router would provide the Guest with an IP address. Of course, you need a router for it to work, if you are directly connected to the internet, it won't work. The limited or no connectivity means that the Guest OS was not able to obtain a valid IP address. Quite unusual what you got as a result, but glad it works now.

Hmm. I seem to have a similiar issue.

host: imac, 10.6.5, using the built in isight microphone.
guest os: win xp, communicator 7.0.3.3

In winxp I can make voice recordings etc using the mic, the voice test goes fine in the communicator, however when makings calls I can hear the caller fine, but they cannot hear me.

To complicate matters, I am using the Cisco VPN client 5.0.06.0160 in order to connect to a corporate VPN.
Any thoughts?

Just wanted to add that this worked for me (March 2012).

Setup: Macbook Air running Lion, Vmware Fusion 5, Windows7, Cisco IP Communicator 7.0.5. Yes, I know I said VMware, but this is the only forum that had the answer that worked, so Thank You.

Symptoms: When using the softphone, I could not hear the caller's voice. The caller could hear me. If the caller hit the keys on their number pad, I could hear those. But no spoken words would come through. This was true whether calling within the company system (to another Cisco phone in the company) or dialing out to a mobile phone, in this case.

Solution: Changed VM network setting from NAT to Bridged and everything worked fine.

Hi Guys,
I have similar problem, the bridge is good solution in network, where is not MAC address restriction. Our company has policy one piece of HW one MAC address in network. We can't use more MAC address on one computer. Have somebody solution for NAT?
