Guest Internet Access

Hey Everyone,

I am new to VirtualBox but have a fair bit of experience with Hyper-V. I have a WinXP host running a WinXP guest and I cannot get the guest any access to the host or the internet via:

1. Shared fodlers feature
2. USB stick access
3. Network access via the network card.

I have installed "VirtualBox Guest Additions" too. Will I need to install the same driver my host NIC uses on ther guest OS? If so how can I copy the driver over?

Thanks very much.

David

How does the host access the Internet? Normally Internet access just works with the default (NAT) setting.

If the host is on a network with a DHCP server, bridged is the best option. The vm loks just like another machine on the LAN and gets its ntwork config from DHCP, just as the host does. You can then use normal network file and printer sharing.
