BSoD when installing Server 08. Also, a networking question.

Hi,

I have an i7 machine with 6GB of RAM; Windows 7 x64.

I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Vista x64, and Ubuntu, and I did not get any problem whatsoever.
I am studying Windows certs and trying to make a virtual lab for my studies; however, I am having a problem installing Windows Server 2008 R2 on VirtualBox 3.2.10.

The problem is I always get BSoD. The code keep changing sometimes it is A, 24. There a few more codes, but I cant remember them.

Also, how can I make two instances of guest OSes to ping each other?
I have Windows 7 x64(guest OS), and Vista x64 (guest OS).
What I did, from host PC I made a loopback adapter and gave it an IP address of 10.1.1.1/24, and on the Win7 and statically configured its IP 10.1.1.2/24; and for Vista's IP add is 10.1.1.4/24 and loopback is 10.1.1.3/24.
The network settings is in Bridge > Microsoft loopback.

From the guest OSes, I can ping their own loopbacks, but I can't ping the host computer which is 192.168.1.6/24. From host PC, I can ping the loopbacks, but not the Virtual OSes.

The BSOD part, you haven't selected a 64 bit type Guest and that sets some needed bits to get it to run properly. You have to select 2008 (x64) or use the W7 (x64) setting.

For the networking, read chapter 6 of the User Manual, then you know how the networking is done on VB and what you need for your situation.
