Hi,
last weekend my computer (Win7 x64) died and I had to buy a new one (Win7 x64). Lucky enough I have got an Acronis backup of the old one. Here is what my plan was:
1. Run Acronis Boot-Medium in VirtualBox; worked
2. Restore my old system (Win 7 64bit); worked
3. Run the system on VirtualBox; fail
I get the following error (unfortunately in German but maybe someone recognizes the error code):
It says I should insert the Windows disc to repair the system. I did this but it doesn't work, It shows the loading screen but never gets to the actual install screen of Windows 7.
I really appreciate your help. I want to run Mozbackup to save my Firefox and Thunderbird stuff but I need a working system for this...

Re: Acronis Image does not work
Hi, thanks for sharing your ideas.
It is no OEM CD it is the full version of Windows 7 Professional. The same version that is running on the host now.
Copying the FF and TB directories would not be a problem, I can mount the backups. The thing is that I really want to do that Backup with MozBackup. I've never had any issues using it and I don't know if using just Copy&Paste will oversee any data. I want to make sure to use no Preferences, AddOns and so on...

Re: Acronis Image does not work
I'm just guessing but if its an image of a host install, it probably has a lot of hardware-specific drivers already installed that wouldn't be needed in a VB guest. Maybe they're causing some kind of conflict with VB and not allowing it to boot. If Win7 has a safe mode (XP guy here) try to get into that and uninstall sound, video, motherboard, etc drivers, and install guest addons from there. Good luck.

Then Choose Startup Repair

After loading select Repair your Computer

Re: Acronis Image does not work
Thank you for your help. Due to a lack of time I just copied the required files and also found a good other backup program where I was able to specify paths!
I didn't make it work so far...
@jorgensen: I tried that without success...
@Winipulator:
I had to delete the Virtual Drive, but I'll try that if I install it again.
