Networking Xp guest Win 7 Host

Post by connexor »

Hi,
I am new to virtual box so please be understanding and patient in your response.

I have installed virtual box on my windows 7 netbook.
I have installed XP as the guest os in virtual box.
In safe mode, on the XP install, I have installed the guest additions.

I can not get the guest os XP to see any network adapters.
Controlpanel>System>Syatem Properties>hardware
shows two network adaptors but both have the yellow exclamation marks.
One is th default network adapter and the second is one I created.

As well as some pointers on what is wrong here, a link to some help on setting up a network adapter for connecting an XP guest to a wireless adapter on a windows 7 host.

Thanks

You can keep NAT in adapters on configurations of your xp, then assign your shared folders with the host. It's all in the configuration of your virtual machine. Hardly anything is done inside xp, apart for the fundamental, installing the guest additions. You can also access other ips in your network too.
