I'm having trouble getting my win7 host to run guests in 1366 x 768 x 32 fullscreen.
i'v tryed;
VBoxManage.exe controlvm topsecretgovernmentprojeckt setvideomodehint 1366 768 32
VBoxManage.exe setextradata topsecretgovernmentprojeckt CustomVideoMode1-4 1366x768x32
VBoxManage setextradata global GUI/MaxGuestResolution any auto 1366x768x32
but i ither get no result or 1360x768.
Any good ideas on how to run 1366x768 in fullscreen mode?
iv noticed that if running smaller resolutions than 800x600 on win guests it will still be displayed as 800x600.
vbox version is 3.2.10

Re: custom resolution in full screen
Have you installed the guest additions (in the guest)?
The guest can usually only run the resolution of the host with the guest additions installed.

Yes i have installed the guest addon, and my native resolution is 1366 x 768 and not 1360 x 768.

Re: custom resolution in full screen
We suffered from the same problem.
The WinXP VMs when accessed using Windows RDP would not go full screen in client machines and resolution was restricted to 800x600. After investigating every software and hardware issue including replacing the Inno3D nVidia GeForce 210 (512MB) GPU we accidently found out that the problem turned out to be the Virtual Box graphics handling.
The client machines could access VMs in full screen mode only when the host machine was attached to a monitor that supported 1440X900, if the monitor's native resolution was different the VMs were restricted to 800x600.
This seems like a bug in VirtualBox which only allows monitors with native 1440 resolution on the host VirtualBox machine that allows for client VMs to support independent resolution.
I hope this unique problems would be helpful, as we spent many days struggling to make VB work.
VB Host Machine
Windows 7 64bit
Core i7 - 930 2.83Ghz
Asus P6T Motherboard
12GB DDR2 RAM 1333
RAID 1 2 X 500GB WD HDD
Inno3d nVidia GeForce G 210 (512MB) CUDA GPU
Cooler Master 600W PSU
