Acessing other pc from network (for shared printer)

Post by jamesensor »

Hi guys.

I wonder if someone could help me on this issue. I have a windows 7 64bit as host and xp as guest.

I had installed VB 3.2.8 in my pc and i could type as a shortcut, inside xp, the ip of one of my pcs (which was sharing stuff, including a printer) and access its resources. Then, i installed the new version 3.2.10 and, i don't know..., it stopped working. I create a shortcut pointing to 192.168.1.3 (the other pc), it recognizes the ip, then it freezes and doesnt work. My windows 7 can perfectly access that ip, but the guest xp can't manage it. I tried to unblock everything in firewall also (using bitdefender internet security). I'm using NAT connection for guest xp. My network is connected to the other pc with ethernet via cable with router ip 192.168.1.1 My pc is 192.168.1.2 all dynamic.

I use the guest xp at 32bit because of my printer drivers, which are only available in this architecture .. Please advise :( what can i do to access the printer?

Update:

Unninstalled VB, rollback to 3.2.8, problem solved! Using NAT, accessing local network's ips, downloading printer info from locals, printer working :)

everything working :) (i've seen some people complaining about the new update having some weird effects so this might help meanwhile..) Take care ;)
