Wolfenstein 3d and Borland C++ Compiler 3.1 on VirtualBox.

Post by Dennis802 »

Hello :)

I have just discovered VirtualBox. It's much better than VirtualPC. I had sound issues and stuff like that. Since i have VirtualBox, everything works, the sound etc. works like a charm. But i just have two problems, i can't seem to play Wolfenstein 3d under VirtualBox. When i start the game, the screen goes black and just doesn't react. The second problem is when i try to install Borland C++ Compiler 3.1, i get an error that says: Too many subdirectories. Press ESC to continue. Is there any way to fix this?

Sincerely,

Dennis.

OK. Have you installed Guest Additions?

PS: No idea with Borland C++- Do you really need such old Software? There are modern free C++ Compilers like Gnu oder MS VS Express.

Update I: I have installed Guest Additions now. I'm having a better resolution, but Wolfenstein still doesn't work.

Well I don't know if it's possible to edit the sourcecode of Wolfenstein with an other C++ Compiler.

Greetings.

Hello,

I have download Wolf4SDL. Stefan sent me a link that is a modification for the game. I have downloaded the original release of Wolf4SDL. Wolfenstein works, I'm already happy with that! Now I'll take a look and see if i can use an other C++ Compiler.
