hello Forum

I worked on XP (host) and had a xp (guest) on it running all my prgs.
I switched to linux ubuntu as host and planned to use the xp(guest) to use my data and prgs on it.

After exporting the virtual machine ( included 3 virtual harddisks) there were a shared folder setting from xp (guest) to xp (host), I ran into a big error from virtualbox.
I tried to import the virtual machine on my new linux host. Error msg came up ( cannot import because of wrong shared folder setting). Import does not work from xp host to linux host when you have in your guest an activated share folder settings pointing to xp host. I tried to modify the import file ( switched the shared folder settings from xp to linux but no luck).
Any hint or suggestion how I can get it work again ? Can I ever hope that the makers of virtualbox will fix this ???
why does it not work to use a guest on cross platforms ..
greetings
martin
