3.2.10 wont boot OS/2 VM

Post by smurfcorpse »

Worked great with version 3.2.8. Now I get "A critical error has occurred while running the virtual machine and the machine execution has stopped." just after the OS/2 starts.
My VM has 128 MB of ram,
No extended motherboard features
Enable PAE/NX unchecked
Enable VT-x/AMD-V checked
Enable Nested Paging unchecked
Video memory 16 MB
no acceleration
PIIX4 ide controller (host I/O cache checked)
1 bridged network adaptor
No audio,USB or Ports.
no shared folders
update:
If I keep trying to start the VM it will eventually boot to the desktop and runs normal. I'd say about 1 out of 15 tries result in a fully booted VM.

In some cases you need to disable ACPI using
VBoxManage modifyvm <name> --acpi off

This line is in the xml file
ACPI enabled="false"
I still have to try over and over and it will start. I'm going to try it on another PC. It could be issues with this mini. I'll try it on another computer to see if I get the same results.

Tested on another mini with a different CPU. I didn't experience any problems. Not sure whats going on but long ago I had to change the first mini to be sure VTX was enabled at boot. Could be related but I don't know. If I keep restarting the VM it will eventually boot. I Don't know why the previous version worked so well and this one doesn't.
