openSUSE 11.4 Milestone 2 & guest additions (Solved)

Post by loukingjr »

I get this error trying to install guest additions...

Building the shared folder support module failed
(Look at /var/log/vboxadd-install.log to find out what went wrong)
Installing the Window System drivers
Warning: unknown version of the X Window System installed. Not installing
X Window System drivers.
Installing graphics libraries and desktop services components done

any thoughts?

(and yes, I know it's a pre-release)

Xorg 1.9 will be supported in the next maintenance release. There is a pre-release version of the guest additions floating around at http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/5266#comment:83 Read disclaimer. Also you need to install this in a tty window. If you do this from terminal you will need to know how to do a blind reboot of the guest.
I am not sure if these will work in your case or not since it is on a MAC but it works on Windows and Linux hosts and the GAs are for the guest anyway so it should.
