Can anybody tell me what happens to the allocated RAM and Storage when i choose to delete a machine and uninstal virtualbox? Does this undo the partitions i've set automaticly or do i have to do it myself somehow?
I have no further use for virtualbox or the guest OS and therfore don't need the partition, and i want to make sure my original system isn't laggy because I created the partitions before.
I apologize, i'm not very technical, hense asking the question to begin with, hope i'm being clear enough.
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Your hard drives aren't repartitioned when you install a VM, all you get is a file on your hard drive that holds the VM data. To regain the data occupied by these virtual drives, you need to remove them from your hard drive. This is done by opening VB and click on File > Virtual Media Manager. Removing the VDI there will ask if you want to remove it from the hard drive too. That will give you the space back.

Hello, my question is similar to the above. However, in an attempt to free the disk space I deleted the virtual box application. After reading this post I reinstalled it and searched in the directory you specified but it is empty so I don't know what to do. Please help as I am left with a tiny amount of space!!!

The above discussion is 4 years old, and obsolete. To remove a VM simply right click it and select "Remove", answer yes when it asks if you want to delete the associated files as well.

If the VM is already gone from the manager then you can find the files in the <userdoc>\Virtual VMs folder.
