I have a Mac OS X Version 10.5.8. I downloaded Virtual Box 3.2.8 and run on Windows 7. I had several different issues with audio. I followed the infos from the Net (download ICH AC97) and it worked.

I registered in a Multimedia Programs and need to run Sony Soundforge 10. I need to run CD music.

Couldn't not get CD music running and it seems to have some problems with Drivers and USBs. I tried to fix the problem and changed different settings in the Virtual Box, in Windows 7 and in my Mac. Since, when I opened Windows 7 a feedback extra loud sound play.... Is anybody knows which settings might make this happened?

Is anybody can tell me how I am suppose to set up the storage in the Virtual Box Setting.

Right now my storage is set like this:
Storage
IDE Controller (type PIIX3)
IDE Primary Master (CD/DVD):
Host Drive 'MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-868'
IDE Secondary Master:
My PC.vdi (Normal, 20.00 GB)
IDE Secondary Slave (CD/DVD):
Empty
Floppy Controller
Floppy Device 0:
Empty

General is set like this:
Basic:
Operating System: Microsoft Windos
Version: Windows 7 (64 bit)

Advanced:
Users/admin/lib..../machines/my PC/snapshots

System:
Motherboard:
Base Memory 2048MB
Boot Order:
Hard Disk
CD/DVD-ROM
Enable IO APIC

Processor:
Processor(s) (2)
Extended Features:
Enable PAE/NX

Acceleration:
Hardware Virtualization:
Enable VT-x/AMD-V

Audio:
Host Audio Driver:
Core Audio
Audio Controller
ICH AC97

Network:
Enable Network Adapter
Attached to NAT

Ports
Enable USB controller
Enable USB 2.0 (EHCI) Controller
All my USB from Mac are in

In shared Folder: Machine Folders
Note: I didn't have this before I changed several settings everywhere.

I thought, it would be a good idea to uninstall Virtual Box. I tried and the system says that an error occurred and I might damage my system.....

Now, I am getting very worry.... I am not very very familiar with all these systems or programs and technology terms.... I did very well so far, but now it is getting to complicated for me.....

Is anybody can help me with some of all of these issues.... Please use simple terms, so I can understand what you are talking about.

A very discouraged student :(

CD Audio is not supported yet.
The feedback sounds like you have your MIC volume turned up too high. Either turn it down or mute the MIC.

Host = you original operating system
guest = the new one you installed using VirtualBox

Settings look OK as far as I can tell.

Thank so much for your help....

I try to fix the sound problem.... I went into SOUND PLAYBACK and try to fix the problem.... I think the problem come from there.
I changed again the setting and it got worse....

How do I set up the sound playback and the sound recording?

Thanks.

That would be done inside the guest (in your case Windows 7). It is just like doing it on a real computer. This however is outside the scope of this forum. You should search the Windows forums for these answers. http://www.sevenforums.com/
