Can't operate in VMX root mode?
Disable the KVM kernel extension.

Found the answer is to type: sudo modprobe -r kvm_intel

Don't ask me why. I copied what someone else said and it worked...

You can always search for this stuff yourself. put the question in google and follow it with site:forums.virtualbox.org
http://forum.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.p ... 79&start=0
Use: sudo modprobe -r kvm-intel or sudo modprobe -r kvm-amd depending on your processor or use synaptic package manager and remove it.

I'm having this issue as well, in Ubuntu 10.10. The supplied command fixes it. But the next time I reboot, I have to run it again. How do I disable whatever is conflicting with it? Thanks!
