Host-Only (MS Server + Client)

Post by oxygenproject »

Hey all,

This is doing my face in a bit. I would like to get my Windows 2008 R2 server's DHCP to spit an IP to my Windows 7 Client. I assumed by using host only that it would work. I have disabled the 'dhcp server' built into Virtualbox.. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Is the server a guest as well? Then use Internal for the adapters in the guests.

I am currently doing some study (MCITP) and I just want to setup a virtual network for a server and a client on my Macbook.. Is host-only the best method? Thanks for your help :)

As I said if the two guests are server and win 7 then use Internal. If you need the Internet then setup another VM that is used as router (ICS).
Search the forum there are plenty of requests and answers to this very topic.
