usb headset- choppy sound

Good Afternoon;

I've seen this problem posted on other forums but there doesn't seem to be any resolution.

Just to clarify, the issue is with a usb headset. The sound comes through but is very choppy. I'm running Linux mint as host and XP on the vb. Sound without the headset is just fine.

Is there any way to fix this???

I have a second data point...

VB 3.2.8;
Host: Fedora 12 - 64 bit;
Guest: Win7 - 64 bit;
Logitech USB headset

I get a fairly regular click - not complete breakup of sound
