[SOLVED] Windows 64-bit support.

Hi,

I spent an hour reading documentation and searched this forum, but I have not yet determined if VirtualBox is supported on my computer. My best guess is that it's not supported, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

The documents state that VirtualBox supports 64-bit Windows platforms, but the download page of the version 3.2.8 kit has the text "x86/AMD64".

My laptop computer has a 64-bit dual-core processor. The processor chip is the Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8600 @. The operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

Are only AMD-64 bit processors supported at this time, or will VirtualBox v3.2.8 work on my Intel 64-bit processor too?

If it does not work now, will there be support for my computer in the foreseeable future?

Thank you in advance,
Bill

Your processor is 64-bit and has VT-x enabled. If your bios supports hardware virtualization (as it should) then it will work. The amd64 VirtualBox works in both Intel and AMD.
