Windws 7 64-bit on Mac Pro

Post by thinkopen »

Having trouble with the graphics. I install the Windows 7 64-bit guest OS, then install the Virtualbox Guest Additions (64-bit), reboot and sections of the Windows 7 login screen are black. I have a new Mac Pro with an ATI HD 5770. Anyone have any advice about how I can resolve this display adapter issue with Windows 7 64-bit?

I just noticed that my macbook pro actually booted in 32 bit mode. Will boot it into 64-bit. should solve this issue I guess...

OK, so installing the 64-bit guest additions on to a Windows 7 64-bit guest running on my Mac Pro 64-bit Mac OS X 10.6.4 host breaks graphics. Is anyone else seeing this? Any advice as to how I should troubleshoot? Do I really need the guest additions?

After some testing I've determine that the problem isn't with any of the software; it has to do with which display I have the VM on. If I put the VM on my primary display, everything works fine; if I put it on my secondary display I see the graphics issue. Not sure if the problem lies with Mac OS X or Virtualbox. What do I need to do to submit a bug report?
