Shared Folders

I want to start by saying I'm new here. I have read the forum answer to this question and it didn't help me, so I ask here to be answered in more easily understood terms.

I am running Windows 7 as host, Windows XP as guest. I am able to set a shared folder, but can't access it.
Doing what is said in the other forum answer isn't working. I look in Explorer, Network Places and it isn't there. Also, I setup a network but can't see the host there. So all I have to use to share files is a flash drive.

Someone please help me in easy terms to access the shared folder.

You need to install the guest additions (in the guest) before the VirtualBox shared folders feature will work. Run the guest, then select "Install Guest Additions..." from the "Devices" menu of the VM window.

OK, did that, and that enabled a graphics driver and such, but still no access to the shared folder. What am I doing wrong?

OK, I got it! I had to add a network place. Thanks for the help.
