I have released 2 folders to be shared between my Mac and the Windows XP system I am running on Virtual Box. When I try to follow the directions to view the folders in Windows, they do not appear and I cannot find the server 'vboxsvr'. Here are the instructions with the places that I run into problems in bold. Thanks! -bet

From the User Manual: "In a Windows guest, starting with VirtualBox 1.5.0, shared folders are browseable and are therefore visible in Windows Explorer. So, to attach the host’s shared folder to your Windows guest, open Windows Explorer and look for it under “My Networking Places” -> “Entire Network” -> “VirtualBox Shared Folders"."
Under Entire Network, the only choice is 'Microsoft Windows Workgroup'. 'VirtualBox Shared' does not appear.

I have also tried to map a network drive to: \\vboxsvr\sharename where sharename is the name of one of my shared folders, but the server is not found.

And did you, as per instructions in the manual, install the Guest Additions?

Success! Somehow I thought that section of the User Manual was referring to the X installation... Thanks, -Betsy
