Windows XP Virtual Machine is not responding.

I recently just applied some patches to my Windows XP virtual machine via the Windows update. After the updates were finished being applied the machine proceeded to reboot, but the machine just stalls at a blank screen. I do not see the Oracle splash screen when booting the virtual machine, and the window which displays the VM stays black for extended period of time. Is there anyway I can troubleshoot this matter? I tried reinstalling the latest version of virtualbox, and also tried restoring my "VDI" file to earlier version which was working well when Time Machine backed it up, but I am still getting a black screen. :| Any help would be appreciated.

I'm also looking into this issue. Problem is with A quad core Macbook Pro hanging the XP install at a black screen as well.
