how to convert vdi to img

Hi,

i think i have only a little problem, but can't figure it out anyway .
I want an image of my debain guest to copy it on a cf-card. I tried to solve the prob.
using the acronis backup software, but i get it not out of my debian.

So here my question, do you know a possibility to convert the vdi file to an image,
that i can easily install it on my cf-card

I have a debain sarge 3.1 guest with windows 7 as host.
Virtualbox 3.2.8

acronis backup is a bootable CD or ISO file? CF-card reader is USB?
guesswork: assign CD or ISO to the sarge vm, attach USB CF-card reader to the vm (USB-filter) and then boot the backup software in the sarge vm

otherwise, explain what you mean:

with "install ..."
