Ran as Root -- still broken after reinstall

Post by puckettgw »

Hi,
I recently ran VBox with the sudo command in order to forward a few ports to it -- and now if I don't run it with sudo, the interface is transparent! By 'interface', I am referring to panels that would otherwise be white in color, such as the machine details pane of the main window and the drop down warning messages about disconnected drives, mouse pointer integration, etc. The machine details pane is not only transparent, but I can scroll / click through to the windows behind it -- o.O

If I run VirtualBox with sudo, these problems do not occur.

Even after uninstalling VirtualBox both via the uninstaller and by using find -iname to find files named vbox* or virtualb* i was still unable to see these panes after a reinstall, without running VBox as root.

This makes me sad, because it makes VBox almost unusable on my machine. I'm really tired of Parallels already. Please help T_T
