Alternative keyboards in VBox

Post by fhansen »

I bought a MacBook Pro the other day and installed VBox and Windows 7 under the OS host. Then I added the guest additions under Windows. Everthing went smoothly except one item. The alternative keyboards are inactive under Windows. This means that I cannot enter the brackets and curly parantheses that I use all the time in Latex (the keyboard is Danish). What can be done?

What characters to you get instead? Does providing the same layout or switching layouts in Windows help?

I get no characters at all. Only a beep as if I did something not allowed.

Are there anybody out there that can help? It is a big problem to me as I use Tex everyday.

I noticed that the problem persists even if I change to US keyboard. The ALT-key does not give access to the alternative keyboard.
