Mount use prebuilt VHD

I found several VHD files of Win 3.11, 95,98,ME I'd like to use in VirtualBox. But I'm having some difficulty getting these VHD's to work. I'm still quite new to Virtual stuff. I've done some searches here and google but could not find a step by step guild. I have VirtualBox installed and working. I even have a Ubantu 10.04 VM running well. But I'm stuck on VHD's. Links? Suggestions?

A VHD file is a virtual hard disk in Microsoft's .vhd format.
Add the vhd file to Hard Disks in Virtual Media Manager. Create a new virtual machine and select "use an existing hard disk" and browse to your .vhd file.
Alternatively, use Clonevdi to convert the vhd file to a vdi file first, then add the .vdi to Media Manager and continue as above.
There are known problems with running these old OSs in VirtualBox. See the discussion in the Windows Guests forum.
