Windows 2008 R2 boot failure after Additions Installed

Version: 3.2.8
Host: Windows 7 Professional 64
Guest: Windows 2008 Standard R2
Guest installs without issue. Can rebooted many times without issues. Installed the Guest Additions.
On reboot, guest blue screens then boots to Windows Recovery.
Blue screen does not display a driver, however the technical information is:
STOP: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000420,0xFFFFF80001F1A233,0xFFFFF880009A8D88,0xFFFFF880009A84B0)
This happens each time in install the guest additions to this guest OS. No issues with Windows 7 and Windows XP guests.
