Network: Default bridged adapter (from default installation, I didn't change anything)
Guest: Mandriva Linux
On Host-OS: Both pop, imap and smtp work
on Guest-OS: imap works but not SMTP
I also Tested this on an other computer using vbox and I tried to send mails to a different SMTP-Server. So it cant be the mail servers fault.
I would love to test it myself but heres the strange thing:
I have two machines with Windows7 as hosts, but I cant use telnet to connect to the SMTP-Servers.
I thought the easiest way to debug SMTP was to use
Code: Select all
telnet <SERVERNAME> 25Code: Select all
Verbindungsaufbau zu mail.hwis.ch...Es konnte keine Verbindung mit dem Host herg
estellt werden, auf Port 25: VerbindungsfehlerWith this it would seem to me as if i could not send mail from the Host-OS, but I really can.
From inside the Guest-OS I get the same:
But here I actually can't send any mailtelnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
I tried 3 different Mail-Servers. one of them even has two ports for smtp, if port 25 is blocked.
But when I set up a mail client on the Host-OS I can send Mails. I even copied the whole Account to the Guest-OS so I can be 100% sure that everything is the same but I can't send mail, I can only receive new mails via IMAP.
i also disabled the Windows 7 firewall to check if it's blocking the connection.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to send mail from the Guest-OS. What can I do? How can I test it?
