Hello World!

I'm running Ubuntu 10.4 guest on OS X 10.6 and am unable to use Update Manager. I get this error message in the screenshot.

sudo apt-get update works bu not Update Manager.

Any ideas?

Are you sure this is not Kubuntu instead of Ubuntu?
Either way this is not a VirtualBox error but an internal error from the guest OS. Please continue exploring here http://ubuntuforums.org/
