[HELP] VBox crashes on MS-DOS

Post by jammin »

Crash log available @ http://pastebin.com/BiKm26Zq

I've installed MS-DOS on a VirtualBox partition, so I could more easily work on DOS while carrying out other tasks. With VirtualBox I would not had to wait for my VDU to switch input and I would not had to re-connect input devices.

This is meeting difficulties. At first, MS-DOS 7.1 would not continue past mouse detection on VirtualBox. By default, my MS-DOS floppies were installing CuteMouse 1.9 as the mouse driver.
I've found a way around that problem. I've booted DOS from a bootdisk and replaced CTMOUSE 1.9 with the latest release (2.1 beta 4 at the moment). This has solved the problem... temporarily.

Now with new mouse driver, DOS is crashing shortly after all tasks in AUTOEXEC.BAT are carried out. This does not occur with any bootdisk of MS-DOS 7.1, only with installed version.

Can anyone determine what is wrong and how to fix it?
