When I try to install windows I get the message. INF file txtsetup.sif is corrupt or missing, status 3072. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Totally new to this software. THANKS

Re: Cant install windows
Is this a CD install?
Try enabling the passthrough on the CD/DVD device in the guest settings if it is.

Re: Cant install windows
I am trying to uninstall in order to try again, but when the uninstaller asks for my password I press enter because I don`t have a password for my mac. It then says the uninstall failed because I didnt enter my password. Not a good start here.

Re: Cant install windows
Well Perryg I tried passthrough but it made no difference. Not sure where to go from here. I did reinstall virtualbox and that made no difference either. I guess its back to boot camp, which works perfectly but thought I would try something that didn`t need rebooting. Thanks again.

Re: Cant install windows
Well I hate to see you just run away. There is one other thing that you can try if you want to use VBox.
Make an ISO out of the CD and in the storage section you can attach that instead of the actual CD.

Re: Cant install windows
Hi Perryg. I tried to do what you said., by making an ISO out of the windows disk but it doesn`t allow me to select the disk. The disk is grayed out or unselectable.I would really like to get this to work.

Re: Cant install windows
Can you post a screen shot of the storage section so I can see it?
Also From the host terminal/command window type this VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> --details and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use "" if the name has a space in it.
