I'm currently using both 32-bit and 64-bit guest Vista Ultimate VMs in VirtualBox v3.2.8, however even with the guest additions installed I cannot use Windows Aero (just the Vista Basic theme). I'm assuming Aero isn't supported in Windows Vista guests but is there any hacks or tricks or anything to force enable Aero or do I have to wait for VB to support Aero in Vista guests?

Yes, you have to wait. Its not supported (at the moment?).
